About Us

Thank You for your interest in our mission furniture line. At Moyles Custom Creations we try to focus on many rare pieces of furniture built by Gustav Stickley,  Charles Limbert and L.&J.G. Stickley, but also design and create many unique pieces to accomodate todays lifestyle.        Each piece is built exactly like the originals using precise mortise and tenon joinery. In order to create the perfect joint the mortise is made first and then the tenon is carved to fit perfectly. Quarter sawn white oak and cherry is used in every mission piece of furniture we build other species available upon request. Trees from local sawmills are cut to 4/4 5/4 and 6/4 lumber then brought to kiln dry for approximately 90 days or until the moisture content reaches 6 to 8 percent. Durning construction of the furniture, boards are matched and placed to reveal the most flaking visible from each direction. Fuming the furniture after construction creates a mellow base tone which resembles the patina of actual aged wood gained over many years. This is done by sealing the furniture in an airtight container and allowing ammonia fumes to react with the tannic acid in the white oak. After many hours the piece is removed, stained and covered with four coats of hand rubbed laquer and then finally waxed.  Cushions and pillows are made with American made high density foam, no sag springs and cotton to achieve comfort, durability and long lasting beauty. Aniline dyed open faced leather in several colors enhances each piece with beautiful mission tones.  Fabrics can be chosen from our line or ordered to match any interior or decor. Again thank you for your interest in our mission furniture .
Enjoy it for a life time.
